Amanda’s great passion is achieving personal and organisational development through facilitation of group processes – putting her MSc in management development and training to work.
Amanda focuses on three areas: Management and Organisational Development, Creativity and Innovation and Outdoor Experiential Learning. She sets up ‘experiences’ for people and teams, which act as mirrors for them to see their behavioural patterns. She then supports people to translate that awareness into impact back in the workplace.
Amanda’s specialist subject is Creativity and Innovation. One of her previous roles was as Innovation Manager for a high technology company keen to spin out the science and technology into new and profitable businesses. Her workshops explore advanced creative thinking by way of lateral and creative thinking techniques such as de Bono Six Thinking Hats, Metaphors, Provocation, Reverse Brainstorming, Mind Mapping and many more.
In the past two years as part of the government’s £2M “promoting!nnovation” programme, she has facilitated more than 25 in-company 'live' creativity and innovation sessions in the West Midlands and run 5 Innovation Champions Programmes. Amanda also facilitates the development of creative thinking skills for Executive Programmes at Warwick and Oxford Business Schools as well as their MBA programmes.
She has worked on numerous Executive Development Programmes from the ‘Introduction to Corporate Leadership’ for senior Civil Servants at Sunningdale College to ‘Creative Thinking Skills’ with O2 , the mobile phone company Other clients include BT, Oxford City Council, the NHS, the DTI, Zurich Financial Services, Radio Aire and Magic.
Amanda is an NLP practitioner, has completed a foundation course in Transactional Analysis and is licensed for the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). She is also a qualified ropes course instructor! Her passion for excellence in facilitation recently led her to the United States for a course in Advanced Facilitation Skills.
Amanda is a keen walker and cyclist. As a promising junior tennis player, she once beat Anne Hobbs who then went on to play at Wimbledon.
