facilitation

The facilitator skills needed for a successful creative thinking session are very different to chairperson or a normal meeting facilitator skills. They revolve around a deep awareness of how creativity works in the brain and in behavioural terms.

Key are the rules of brainstorming. There are the obvious ground rules of brainstorming that we all know and love and it is the facilitator's main core purpose, to ensure these rules are adhered to.

And facilitation starts way before the meeting actually starts and continues way after the meeting actually finishes! This is because of the sometimes forgotten fact that to make the generation of new and different ideas successful, there is a whole process to run!

Here is an extract from an email I wrote to a client explaining (briefly) the process that I had used with his people.
Have a look here at some feedback from one of our clients following a facilitation we did for them.
