| Making change happen is about choice. |
|
| |
- choosing a direction
- choosing the people to take you in that direction
- putting in place the processes that will take you there
- committing to do it
|
Sounds simple, so why is it so difficult ?
Sometimes people are fearful of tackling tough issues.
For example, performance management processes are not robust, poor performers have often been “allowed to get away with it”.
What reasons do people have for not embracing change ?
|
| |
- internal politics
- (unspoken) personal agendas choosing a direction
- it's not a priority
- "I'm too busy"
|
| To the individual, these are all fair excuses. |
| |
If you hear these excuses then your 'issue' doesn't qualify for change in the first place. If you're too busy to do it, it probably didn't need changing in the first place. |
